Dunkleosteus terrelli

A life reconstruction of Dunkleosteus terrelli, a placoderm from the Devonian period. Reconstructing this armored apex predator was very rewarding, given that its anatomy is unlike any extant fish. My main points of reference for this project were up-to-date scientific publications, with shark anatomy informing the soft-tissue biomechanics and skin.
